If you are receiving an error message “No Devices Detected” please follow the troubleshooting tips below.
- Ensure that all other programs that might use the microphone and/or camera are completely shut down. These programs include but are not limited to: Skype, FaceTime, PhotoBooth, and even another browser using Facebook or other social media websites.
- Ensure your devices are plugged in and turned on.
If you have not done so already, please switch over to Google Chrome, as it provides a much better interview experience. Additionally, you will need to ensure you have an updated version of Chrome. To check on the version of Chrome you are running, copy and paste the following: chrome://help into your URL bar. Here, Chrome will tell you if you are running the most up-to-date version. We strongly recommend updating to the most recent version (58+). Once you have updated the browser and follow the steps above, you should be all set.
If you are still having trouble, please restart your computer. This should do the trick, should steps 1-3 fail. We know this might sound like an odd recommendation, but a very large portion of computer issues are solved by a simple reboot!
- If you are using an external microphone or camera, make sure that they are plugged in to your computer and turned on.
- If you are using a device with built-in devices, please make sure any covers are removed.
